Read Full BioDr. Kip Schumacher is the board-certified Emergency Medicine physician who has used his knowledge of the delivery of Emergency Medicine to develop SCP Health (formerly known as Schumacher Group/Schumacher Clinical Partners). Seventeen years in the trenches of a large hospital emergency department led to the creation of our organization. He knew that with the right team and the right philosophy, we could help shape Emergency Medicine throughout the country. Dr. Schumacher is renowned for his personal commitment to excellence. His focus on high-quality patient care drives our company to respond to our clients and providers with innovative, meaningful solutions, all for the purpose of making healthcare better for every single patient.
Dr. Schumacher is also a national leader in policy arenas, helping shape the future of healthcare. He has published several articles on the leadership challenges facing the healthcare industry, has participated on nonprofit boards dedicated to healthcare reform and has been honored as a “Hero of Emergency Medicine” by the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP).
Dr. Randy Pilgrim provides executive oversight and direction for SCP Health’s clinical operations, including systems that support clinical excellence, minimize risk, and deliver key results for patients and clinicians. He also leads SCP’s efforts in health care policy, industry relations, and advocacy, in service of an effective and sustainable system of emergency care in the US.
Dr. Pilgrim completed medical school and residency at the University of Minnesota. He has served in emergency medicine practice and leadership roles for over 30 years and is regularly involved with health policy issues at state and national levels. His actuarial background, analytical skills, and practical experiences combine with clinical and operational knowledge to balance patient care demands, clinicians’ needs, and key business considerations.
During four terms as Chair of the Board for the Emergency Department Practice Management Association (EDPMA), he represented members that impact over half of the 140 million annual ED visits in the US, working with legislative and regulatory measures that affect quality emergency care. He now chairs EDPMA’s Federal Health Policy Committee and has co-chaired ACEP’s Task Force on Alternative Payment Models. He serves as a faculty member for ACEP’s ED Director Academy, and has lectured with the IOM’s dissemination workshop series, “Hospital-Based Emergency Care, At the Breaking Point”.
As faculty for ACEP’s Scientific Assembly and ED Director Academy, Dr. Pilgrim speaks on a variety of topics related to emergency medicine and health care reform and was twice honored as a Speaker of the Year.
Dr. David Schillinger brings over 30 years of experience to his role at SCP Health. He is a graduate of Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Shands Jacksonville Medical Center. Dr. Schillinger co-founded Hospital Physician Partners, formerly known as EDCare, in April 2002. Prior to that, he served as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors of ECS Holdings since the inception of ECS and its predecessor entity in 1988. Dr. Schillinger is licensed to practice in over 25 states and works clinically at many of our client hospitals.
Dr. Stephen Nichols is a pragmatic realist when it comes to operational improvements. He has over 30 years of experience delivering acute care in a variety of settings and environments. His work for SCP Health focuses on helping organizations with various operational and service challenges by integrating services in effective and efficient ways, while maintaining the focus on the people we care for — patients and clinicians.
Dr. Nichols applies his down-to-earth style with a methodical approach to management that focuses on quality patient care while balancing provider expectations, business goals, and healthcare demands. His fundamental goal is to help organizations create spaces where employees enjoy working together and deliver the care they would want their families to have if they needed it. He combines the experiences reported to the organization with evidence from detailed data analytics to accomplish this goal.
Dr. Beverly Gladney, a native of Louisiana, brings 25 years of Emergency Medicine experience, depth of knowledge in healthcare delivery, and extensive administrative experience in clinical settings to her role with SCP Health. With managerial responsibility over SCP’s Emergency Medicine practices, she maintains oversight and overall accountability for the quality and efficiency of care provided with and through our Emergency Medicine clinicians. She is a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician executive with an established track record of patient-focused client service, operational efficiency, and clinical excellence.
A lifetime educator, mentor, and coach, Dr. Gladney earned her Master’s Degree in Education and Administration before going back to school to earn her MD from LSUHSC. She completed her Emergency Medicine Residency at LSUHSC – Baton Rouge. She is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and the American Academy of Emergency Physicians. She formerly served as Chief of Service of Emergency Medicine at Baton Rouge General Hospital. Also active in academics, she was Chair of GME and Clerkship Director for Emergency Medicine at Tulane’s Baton Rouge campus and held other clinical academic positions, teaching many of the Emergency Medicine physicians throughout the state of Louisiana. Many of her former Emergency Medicine residents are now Medical Directors for SCP Health, throughout the country.
Kenneth Jay Heinrich, MD, received his Doctor of Medicine Degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois, and completed his Emergency Medicine Residency program at the University of Illinois. A board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician, Dr. Heinrich is licensed in Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Wisconsin, Tennessee, and Virginia.
Dr. Heinrich utilizes sophisticated simulation-software to model how functional changes will have on-the-ground implications in emergency departments and clinics. He has lectured at national conferences and individual hospitals around the country on many topics, including process improvement, patient satisfaction, and implementing change.
In 2005, Dr. Heinrich published an article in the American Journal of Emergency Medicine on “Chronic Digoxin Toxicity and Significantly Elevated BNP Levels in Presence of Mild Heart Failure.” He also conducted a Case Series of ACE- Inhibitor Induced Angioedema.
Dr. Heinrich is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and a member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians, the American College of Emergency Physicians, and Illinois College of Emergency Physicians. He has also served in a Medical Director role at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, Illinois.
Rodolphe Taby, MD
Rodolphe “Rudy” Taby is a physician leader and hospital medicine specialist. Having graduated from Saint Joseph University School of Medicine, and after completing residency training at East Tennessee State University and a postdoctoral fellowship at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dr. Taby has worked across several health care systems, including for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. In his various roles, Dr. Taby has held several medical staff and administrative leadership appointments, including Department Chair, Chief Hospitalist and Medical Director.
With a focus on Hospital Medicine productivity and quality optimization, Dr. Taby has acquired considerable experience in overseeing acute care programs along with startup initiation.
An avid outdoorsman, Rudy spends his free time hiking and cycling the Sonoran desert trails of his home state of Arizona.
Brian C. Dawson, MD, MBA, FACEP, FACHE
Brian Christopher Dawson, MD, MBA received his Doctor of Medicine Degree from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina where he also completed his Emergency Medicine Residency. Dr. Dawson completed an MBA with the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
A board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician, Dr. Dawson is licensed in Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, Texas, and Colorado. He has served as a Medical Director, Regional Director, and Vice President of physician groups. In addition, he has served as a hospital board member, Chief of Staff, and Chairman of the Hospital Board Quality Committee.
Dr. Dawson has experience in process improvement projects with hospitals, private companies, and physician groups. He has participated and led several LEAN initiatives in addition to helping create award winning IT and care coordination solutions. He has a passion for innovation and entrepreneurship that creates value for patients, providers, and hospitals. Recently Dr. Dawson served as a market Chief Medical Officer for a large non-profit health care system where he had responsibility for several hospitals including the level one trauma center and served as the system transfer center medical director.
Dr. Dawson lives in eastern TN in the Appalachian Mountains with his wife, a practicing family medicine physician, and their two sons. His personal interests include general aviation, endurance sports, and literature.
Dr. Jude Malican brings an array of experience to his role with SCP Health. He is responsible for supporting and leading SCP’s efforts to remain a leader in the provision of management practices within Emergency Medicine & Hospital Medicine. In this role, he ensures consistent patient care and management practices in Emergency Medicine and Hospital Medicine that ensure high quality and dependable performance.
He formerly served as the Associate Regional Medical Director for Emergency Services for the Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston. While there, Malican had primary responsibilities for both the development and implementation of the EMR platforms for all the emergency departments in the system, as well as serving as the medical director for one of the busiest emergency departments in the system.
Malican has held academic appointments at UT Southwestern, Emory University, University of Connecticut, University of Tennessee, and currently has a faculty position with the Baylor College of Medicine. He has also held a wide variety of leadership positions. He has been the medical director of large trauma centers as well as the medical director at a variety of community hospitals. From being involved in multiple contract start-ups to the successful implementation of several hospital emergency department redesign projects, Dr. Malican has had experience in every facet of Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Noah Hoskins is a Senior Vice President and Division Medical Officer for the Hospital Medicine Division at SCP Health. Her primary responsibilities include maintaining clinical excellence in hospital and intensive medicine services through clinician professional development, patient-centered care, and outcomes-driven management.
A native Floridian, Dr. Hoskins received her medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and completed her residency training at Medstar Health Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Always focused on physician development, she then served as Internal Medicine Clinical Faculty and Director of the Women’s Health Clinic. She now serves as a leader in hospital medicine and has created a proven track record of improving patient experience scores, establishing best practices for physician engagement, and innovating solutions for the healthcare challenges of today, all while connecting to healthcare of the future.
Her current focus is implementing processes designed to raise the standard of clinical care in the communities we serve and lead efficient caring teams.
Andrew Core, MD
Dr. Andrew Core is a Senior Vice President and Group Medical Officer for the Hospital Medicine and Critical Care Divisions of SCP Health. In his role, Dr. Core leads a team of dedicated clinical and operational experts and is committed to exceptional patient care delivery and solving critical challenges in the healthcare industry.
Dr. Core’s primary focus is enhancing clinical quality by reducing provider variability and optimizing operational efficiency. He believes empowering medical directors and implementing robust care systems can achieve outstanding performance management outcomes. Effective provider productivity management and team-based care strategies implementation has led to remarkable outcomes, including better patient experiences, lower mortality rates, decreased readmissions, and shorter hospital stays.
Before joining SCP, Dr. Core held diverse roles in the management of acute medicine programs, with achievements including unifying performance across multiple hospital sites, launching numerous new programs and services, and enhancing patient outcomes in travel roles to stabilize new and stressed inpatient medicine programs.
Dr. Core earned his medical degree at the National University of Ireland and completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh Mercy, where he served as Chief Resident. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Ireland. In addition, Dr. Core holds a master’s degree in business administration specializing in healthcare. He is also a Certified Physician Executive.
Michael Peebles, MD
Dr. Michael Peebles received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Louisiana State University Charity Hospital in New Orleans, LA, receiving Chief Resident and the Emergency Medicine Residents’ Association Clinical Excellence Award.
Leading into his role as Senior Vice President and Group Medical Officer, Dr. Peebles served as the Regional Medical Officer for Lafayette General Health System and Emergency Medicine Medical Director for Lafayette General Medical Center (LGMC) in Lafayette, LA.
While serving as Regional Medical Officer, Dr. Peebles created a Physician Leadership Council, to include 10 hospitals, with 18 Emergency Medicine and Hospital Medicine Medical Directors and 5 Lead Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants for the health system, to make transitions of care seamless for both patients and clinicians.
Under his Medical Director leadership, the LGMC Emergency Department grew from 24 beds to 47 beds, adding at least 1,300 more patients a month, and achieved certification as a Level II Trauma Center. Dr. Peebles’ dedication to bettering healthcare earned him the SCP Health Excellence in Leadership Award in 2017.
Jill L. Hunt, PA-C
Jill Hunt, a native New Yorker, brings over 30 years of management and 15 years of health care experience to her role at SCP Health. She began her career in the hospitality industry before deciding to pursue a medical career as a physician assistant. After completing her medical education at Pace University and clinical training at Lenox Hill Hospital, Hunt moved into a leadership role at Garnet Health Medical Center as the Lead Physician Assistant.
When her facility partnered with SCP Health, then Schumacher Clinical Partners, Hunt was given an opportunity to move into the role of NP/PA Director and became responsible for all aspects of NP/PA practice nationwide, including scope of practice, collaboration, and continued development of NP/PAs.
In her current role as Senior Vice President of NP/PA services, Hunt develops and executes policies, procedures, and operational goals for the NP/PA population across all service lines, to include emergency, hospital, and critical care medicine, along with virtual health services. Additionally, she also oversees the advocacy and growth of these clinicians through increased scope of practice and utilization.
In 2021, Hunt received her master’s degree from Pace University. She continues to contribute to new clinician education as a professor of Physician Assistant Studies at Touro Medical College. Hunt enjoys spending time with her family in her off-hours and being a dedicated fan of the NFL.
Operational Leadership
SCP Health’s operational leadership team represents decades of healthcare industry experience and are collectively passionate about revitalizing health care by empowering clinicians and health systems to deliver exceptional patient care.
Rich D’Amaro, a seasoned veteran of the healthcare industry, is responsible for the day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives of SCP Health. Previously, he presided as Founder and Partner Emeritus of Subsidium Healthcare, LLC, an Atlanta-based healthcare consulting firm that he began in 2001. D’Amaro served in various capacities for 22 years with industry powerhouse KPMG LLP, including roles as a member of the firm’s Management Committee, National Managing Partner for the healthcare practice and Chairman of the International Practice.
After leaving KPMG, D’Amaro served as Chairman of two successful healthcare technology companies. In 2005, he merged Subsidium into Tatum, LLC, and became Chairman and CEO. He led Tatum for five years and exited after a successful sale to SFN group in 2010. His commitment to healthcare has included board leadership roles in the Alzheimer’s Association, Health Care Georgia Foundation, Vanderbilt University Technology Corporation, and St. Joseph’s Mercy Care. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Fulcrum Equity Partners, a private equity firm based in Atlanta, and Enduracare Acute Services, LLC.
Rob Reilly is an accomplished operating executive with more than 25 years of experience in the health care industry. Rob has deep expertise in operations, sales and marketing, strategy, and finance and a proven ability in developing and executing business strategy and leading large organizations at scale.
Rob joined SCP Health in 2020 as Chief Operating Officer and was promoted to the President role in 2024. In his position, Rob is responsible for leading SCP’s 500+ physician practices and the supporting operating teams, focused on delivering exceptional care for almost 10 million patients annually.
Prior to SCP Health, Rob spent 28 years with GE. During his GE career, he worked in multiple GE businesses across North America, Europe, and Asia. For 20 years, Reilly held diverse leadership responsibilities at GE Healthcare, helping navigate the business through the rapidly transforming healthcare industry. He led the charge transitioning from a transactional product to solutions focus, leading commercial strategy, driving operational performance, and helping shape health policy. At GE Healthcare, Rob held multiple leadership roles including CFO, VP- Sales, Chief Marketing Officer, and President- Services.
Reilly is a 1993 graduate of the University of Michigan Ross School of Business with a degree in Business Administration. He has been active in the Health Management Academy and as a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He previously served as the Board Chair for Big Brothers Big Sisters in Metro Milwaukee and led the Greater Milwaukee United Way Campaign.
Rena Cottam brings more than 30 years of experience in accounting, corporate finance, financial planning and analysis, and tax, including 23 years in business leadership and healthcare. In her role as Chief Financial Officer, she is responsible for directing SCP Health’s overall financial strategy, including accounting, corporate and operational finance, investor relations, managed care and revenue cycle.
Cottam joined the company in 2001 and has held various positions including Corporate Controller, VP of Finance and Chief Accounting Officer. Previously, she served for four years as SCP’s Chief Accounting Officer playing a lead role in corporate development, including a capital restructuring and the integration of two large acquisitions. Additionally, Cottam sits on the board of SCP’s captive insurance companies and led the company’s accounting adoption of Sarbanes-Oxley.
Sarah Crass’s legal career spans over 25 years leading to her current roles of General Counsel and Chief Compliance Office of SCP Health. Prior to SCP Health, she served as General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Senior Vice President of Hospital Physician Partners (HPP). Before then, Crass was a shareholder in a law firm where she practiced in both federal and state courts in the area of complex commercial litigation as well as assisting companies with general corporate and contractual issues.
Crass is admitted to the state bars of Florida (active), New York, New Jersey, Oregon and Washington. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Association of Corporate Counsel, and the Health Care Compliance Association. Crass received her Juris Doctor degree from the Boston University School of Law in 1998 and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida in 1995.
Jim Guidry’s healthcare leadership and management experience includes over 30 years of success in the operation of medical practices in emergency, hospital medicine, critical care, urgent care, occupational medicine, and primary care. His background includes extensive national experience working closely with patient care delivery leaders, hospital C-suite executives, and business management professionals in the pursuit and maintenance of high quality, productive, and cost-effective medical practices. He brings a unique combination of creative problem-solving and team-building skills, coupled with deep experience in the design and deployment of strategies and tactics proven to advance the performance of medical practice.
He is experienced in the development and deployment of operational and fiscal management systems and structures in multi-state and multi-site settings, including the management of operations in academic, for-profit and community not-for-profit hospital environments. Strategic planning, physician recruiting, human resources, fiscal management, sales and marketing, medical billing, managed care contracting, performance optimization, and billing and accounts receivable management are but a few of the core competencies he provides through his role at SCP Health.
Guidry’s educational background includes completion of his undergraduate degree in Business Administration at the University of Louisiana, with extensive graduate-level studies in Healthcare Administration at The Ohio State University. He is a master-level graduate of Rapport Leadership International.
Lisa Fry has over 25 years of experience in the health care and health management industry. She began her career in the insurance industry and transitioned into management consulting at KPMG LLP in the National Healthcare Strategy Practice. Following KPMG, she held executive management roles for 12 years at Kaiser Permanente. She was also a member of the founding executive team of Avivia Health and led the sales function for the health plan line of business for WebMD Health Services.
At SCP Health, Fry is responsible for our value-based programs and all non-hospital-based service lines, including Connected Care Solutions, Hospital-at-Home and our value-based programs with health plans and risk-bearing organizations. Throughout her career, Fry’s primary areas of focus have been on driving revenue growth for client organizations and supporting clients in combining financial and clinical data with population-based health information to create superior health outcomes and enhanced value from health care services. Fry holds a Master of Management in finance and management strategy from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Northwestern University.
Ross Ott is a successful senior human resources executive with over 20 years of human resources experience. In his role as Chief Human Resources Officer with SCP Health, Ott works collaboratively with business executives to develop and implement strategies to attract, on-board, develop, and retain high-performing teams. He leads the strategy and effective delivery of human capital services, including talent management, business partners, total rewards, systems & services, employee relations, and internal communications. He also works with SCP Health senior executives to explore opportunities to develop and shape new business strategies.
Prior to joining SCP Health, Ott held human resources leadership positions at Change Healthcare, McKesson Corporation, and AT&T. Ott holds a Master of Business Administration from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Louisiana Tech University.
Keith Cantrell joined SCP Health in 2012 and is a seasoned executive leader in the healthcare industry with more than 25 years of revenue cycle experience. In his role as Chief Revenue Officer, he is responsible for revenue operations across all service lines and taking innovative strategies to reality that support SCP’s business objectives. Under Cantrell’s leadership, SCP’s revenue cycle has grown to become a leading practice operation that manages the revenue associated with 10 million annual patient encounters for our 7,500 providers. Cantrell puts a great deal of emphasis on developing people and leveraging technology to drive positive outcomes.
Prior to joining SCP, Cantrell held leadership positions at EmCare, Deloitte Consulting, KPMG, and Arthur Andersen. Cantrell holds a Masters in Health Care Administration from Southwest Texas State University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Baylor University.
Victoria brings over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, driving innovation and ensuring the seamless integration of technology to enhance patient care and operational efficiency. With a profound understanding of the dynamic healthcare landscape, Romero is dedicated to leveraging advanced IT solutions to support the organization’s mission of delivering high-quality, patient-centric care.
Romero joined the company in 2006 and has held progressively responsible positions in management and senior leadership culminating in her most recent role of SVP of Information Technology where she played a lead role in IT product development and managing the technology component for the integration of two large corporate acquisitions. She has successfully led numerous large-scale IT initiatives, including the development of a proprietary Artificial Intelligence application, cybersecurity enhancements, and the development of patient care platforms. Under Romero’s leadership, SCP Health achieved significant improvements in data interoperability, patient data security, and overall IT infrastructure.
Prior to joining SCP Health, Romero was a Web Application Programmer with Acadian Ambulance and a Financial Programmer with global company Stuller Settings.
Additionally, Romero is a board member of United Way of Acadiana, a strong advocate for servicing the community, a guest lecturer at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and a recipient of Acadiana’s “20 Under 40” Leadership Award. Romero has a Bachelor of Science in Business Systems Analysis and Technology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Emily Middour
Emily Middour currently serves as the Executive Vice President of Field Operations, overseeing the company’s field operations for SCP’s portfolio of Emergency, Hospital Medicine, and Critical Care hospital partnerships nationally. She is responsible for the financial, quality, and operational goals of the practices.
After beginning her career in the organ transplant sector, Emily moved to Emory Healthcare, completing her Strategy and Operations Administrative Fellowship before transitioning into a strategy consultant role focusing on hospital and health care entity growth strategies for national provider organizations before moving to SCP Health.
During her 10 year tenure at SCP Health, Middour worked in Merger and Acquisitions Integration for legacy Schumacher Group and oversaw the operations integrations for the HPP and ECI mergers, as well as served as a Business Development Vice President then was promoted to Senior Vice President, Growth and Development leading the company’s organic sales efforts for 5 years for all service lines with the responsibility of driving advancements SCP Health’s national growth efforts, including the execution of growth goals and national partnership development.
Middour received her MBA in Healthcare Administration from the University of Colorado – Denver.
Leanne Landreneau
Leanne Landreneau, a native of South Texas, brings 17 years of experience in emergency medicine operations to the SCP Health team. After finishing her MHA training at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston where she studied emergency department utilization and practice patterns, she joined SCP and the rapidly growing emergency medicine service line.
Landreneau has held a variety of leadership roles throughout her SCP career. With extensive experience in direct practice management and client service, she understands the full range of challenges that must be addressed to successfully stabilize and improve local practices. In her current role as Executive Vice President of Emergency Medicine Operations, she is responsible for the overall success of the emergency medicine service line with a focus on client service quality, service model development, and staffing performance.
As a key player in the SCP partnerships, Landreneau is proud to serve the acute health care needs of deserving communities.
Landreneau received her Master of Healthcare Administration degree from Texas State and currently resides in Houston and is based out of the corporate office in Atlanta, GA.
Juan Fernandez
Juan Fernandez is a seasoned business executive with over 20 years’ experience leading large organizations supporting top health systems around the country. In his current role at SCP Health, he leads the Business Operations and Transformation organization, inclusive of national support operations for clinician recruiting, credentialing, scheduling, staffing fulfillment, procurement and optimization teams focused on Lean transformation across the SCP enterprise.
Juan has extensive operational expertise, having previously served as a Division President at GE Healthcare where he led an organization serving over 750 hospitals and was responsible for sales and service delivery across GE’s radiology, healthcare IT and services portfolio. Juan has also held the roles of SVP Operational Excellence and Technology at GE, where he led an enterprise-wide Lean transformation to revamp the company’s processes and systems and VP of Services for GE Healthcare, working closely with national health system clients on outsourced clinical asset management programs at large scale.
Juan has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Puerto Rico and an MBA from Marquette University. He is also a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Blackbelt and executive coach.
