Becker’s Hospital Review recently released a study of the lowest Emergency Department wait times in the country, with two Schumacher Clinical Partners (SCP) clients making the list.
Minden Medical Center and Tulane Medical Center in Louisiana are experiencing ED wait times of 3 minutes and 4 minutes, respectively – well below the national average of 24 minutes.
As mentioned in a Feb. 29 blog post from SCP about the effects of the Affordable Care Act era on ED wait times, emergency departments across the U.S. are doing everything to reduce the time a patient has to wait to see a provider. Innovative approaches like specialty EDs, mini-ERs, medical scribes, online scheduling, and the SOrT (See-Order-Treat) method are being implemented in some hospitals nationwide to help reduce wait times and, in turn, increase patient satisfaction.
